Here at The Hot Water Bottle Shop we know hot water bottles are scientifically proven to help relieve period pains, provide comfort and even give you that much needed cuddle. But that's not always enough, especially when you want to understand how? when? why? and what?! So to help, we've listed some websites that will hopefully answer some of the questions you may have.*

Unfortunately HELLOFLO is an American based website so you can't buy their monthly "Care Packages" outside the USA. Regardless, we've listed the website as it's brilliant! It takes an often emabrrasing subject and makes it funny and therefore more easy to talk about. Even better than that the website is unashamedly for girls of all ages, as it so proudly declares on it's home page: "Your first period. Your last period. And all the wierd stuff that happens in between." We particularly like the Ask Dr. Flo page which has great advice for mums on how and when to talk to their daughters about growing up.

The website also has some great videos, Camp Gyno & First Moon Party which we know you'll want to share with your friends!

You will find a lot of answers on the the BODYFORM My Period pages whether you are waiting for your first period or going through menopause. Our favourite page is definately Period Myths. This page clarifys those playground myths and old wives tales such as "Don't wash your hair when you have your period" and the one we've all been worrying about "Women having their period are more likely to be attacked by bears & sharks." You can also set up your own personal Period Calendar, where you can get reminders sent by email.
