COVID-19 Statement

As we continue through the 2nd UK Lockdown we want to assure our customers that we continue to trade and despatch orders as "normal" [adhering to strict Covid guidelines for the workplace].

As all non-essential retail will be closed and we go into the busiest trading month of the year for all retail, online retailers expect to see a surge in online shopping. As a result, as happened in the previous lockdown, the added pressure on delivery services across the UK, meant customers were receiving their goods a little later than the expected delivery time stated by the service provider. Unfortunately, there is very little we can do except support and be kind to those who are working, and putting themselves at risk to ensure we can still get the things we want and need.

As of 18th November we are beginning to see that some customers both in the UK and Internationally are experiencing delayed deliveries. This is due to increased demand on service providers; more people buying online as non-essential retail is closed, coupled with measures such as social distancing and delivery time changes which have been put in place to keep their teams safe. Royal Mail, our preferred service provider has stated on their Track and Trace page, that: "Between now and Christmas, [they will be] delivering parcels up until 9.00pm. [And that] Despite best efforts some services may be disrupted."

Please be assured that all orders we receive will continue to be despatched within 1-3 working days, subject to availability via our Standard Royal Mail 48 hour tracked service, as they usually are. You will receive a tracking number once we have despatched your items. If you wish to upgrade your postage you can do so at the checkout however, at this time we are unable to guarantee that it will be delivered in the "usual" time stated for that service. Our advice at this busy time of year, which has the additional complication of Lockdown, is to make sure that you  buy gifts in plenty of time.

The 20% LOCKDOWN DISCOUNT - Throughout the Lockdown period we are giving customers 20% discount qualifying items. This is discount will be automatically added at the checkout. The discount excludes the Made In Britain Collection, The We Made Too Much Collection and shipping. As usual we are still offering free UK shipping on orders over £20 [This must be a £20 value after any discount has been taken off].

In these unprecedented times, we just wanted to update you with the steps we have taken here at The Hot Water Bottle Shop to reinforce your confidence at this time of uncertainty.

Currently, it is business as usual and we are taking the necessary precautions and working in line with the Government's guidelines to ensure the health and well being of our customers and staff. We have implemented the following measures:

  • The majority of our office staff are continuing to work from home
  • We have significantly reduced staff numbers in our warehouses and offices to enforce social distancing and ensure their safety and health whilst at work.
  • We have implemented additional hygiene measures (heavily focused around handling your orders and products) for the safety of our customers
  • Our delivery partners now have plans in place which remove the need for direct contact between both parties
